      For the first time in Church history, two popes will be canonized at the same time: Popes John XXIII and John Paul II. EWTN will air programs and specials to commemorate the lives of these two great men plus live coverage of the canonization events from Rome and around the world.       Canonization of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII on Salt+Light

      On April 27, 2014 Salt + Light Television will broadcast, live from Rome, the Ceremony of Canonization for Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II.

      The official site is an almost-completed portal which offers contacts, sections for press offices, information, videos and images as well as biographical documentation on John XXIII and John Paul II. It will be available in five languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish and Polish.


      The application entitled "Santo Subito"?, which may be downloaded free in both Android and IOS formats (in Italian, English, Spanish and Polish) and whose title draws on the famed saintliness of both Popes even during their lifetimes, will offer logistical information, as well as access to the main news on the canonisations, and will allow material relating to the various liturgical events to be downloaded.

      This latter, developed in 2011 for the beatification of Karol Wojtyla, gives a detailed illustration of the stages in the canonical process leading to the recognition of the saintliness of John Paul II and is available in several languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Romanian.

      Press conference at the Diocesan Centre to launch 140th annual pilgrimage to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and Cap-de-la-Madeleine

      The Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, SJ, Archbishop of Ottawa will make an announcement on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Diocesan Centre, 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa, launching the 140th anniversary of the annual pilgrimage to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and Cap-de-la-Madeleine taking place August 9-10, 2014. He will be joined by Bishop Marcel Damphousse, Bishop of Alexandria-Cornwall, Bishop Michael Mulhall, Bishop of Pembroke, and Michael Budge, the organizer of the pilgrimage. This was the appeal at the heart of Pope Francis's address ahead of the Easter Urbi et Orbi blessing.       Mary of Nazareth movie screenings this spring
